Clutch Adjustment Your clutch will never stop turning, it is supposed to turn. Your transaxle is designed to shift into gear at 1100 RPM or less. If you are idling at around 1000 to 1050 RPM that is where you should be. When you shift from neutral, the shift operation should be crisp, don't try to ease it into gear.

Using a clutch spring compressing tool, compress secondary to release spring pressure. 2. Remove the three 14 MM bolts on the back of the clutch. 3. Using a long screw driver hold the helix from spinning 4. Slowly back out the compression tool to allow helix and spring to be accessible 5.

On the back of the secondary clutch are 3 small bolts. (see first pic below one bolt removed) They push in and hold the secondary apart to adjust belt deflection in the closed or stopped position (that is in simple terms the belt slack or tightness).
