Clutch Adjustment Your clutch will never stop turning, it is supposed to turn. Your transaxle is designed to shift into gear at 1100 RPM or less. If you are idling at around 1000 to 1050 RPM that is where you should be. When you shift from neutral, the shift operation should be crisp, don't try to ease it into gear.
Dont forget to double check on the swivel washers that go on either end of the secondary spring. One has the secondary out and a swivel will fall on the floor or just disappear. Confirm there are two washers on either end of the spring, have no metal on metal. The Floating secondary QRS

Your will need to turn your spring down at least an inch (clockwise) There are three holes in in the end of your secondary clutch that the three pronged tool fits in. By changing pressure springs you can affect the shift curve. A spring with a higher spring rate will increase rpm toward the higher ratios, while a lower spring rate will drop the rpm as the transmission shifts out. You simply removed the belt deflection adjuster on your stock driven clutch, and swap over your stock weights and drive spring to this new clutch. Your machine won't have that grinding sound and low speeds either since the deflection adjuster isn't needed. Comes with a new belt and clutch. SAVE $130!!!
Sep 18, 2015 · As you can see in the pictures, the clutch they are adjusting is the Belleville/Coil Spring Combo Series. The one I have, the earlier series is a Belleville Spring only. No coil springs on the side, no T bolts during re-assembly, stamped steel one piece release levers as opposed to the articulated levers on the combo.

Oct 09, 2009 · They thread into the inside clutch plate and protrude out the other side. the shims adjust how far they can protrude through the plate. They push the outer clutch plate away from the inner so there is some pressure on them. If you need to add shims make sure they are all the same thickness or the bolts will not contact the clutch plate properly. On the back of the secondary clutch are 3 small bolts. (see first pic below one bolt removed) They push in and hold the secondary apart to adjust belt deflection in the closed or stopped position (that is in simple terms the belt slack or tightness).
