Planning on changing fuel filter on 1999 International DT466E. I have not done this before and need to know procedure to prime engine after change. Also, I am only seeing one fuel filter on engine. Could be a cmp, BUT the 1st place I would check is the prefilter fuel filter screen behind the fuel filter, it is by far the most negected item on any dt466. So first change the fuel filters. Fill the new ones with diesel. Prime it with the hand pump on the motor. Start and run at fast idle fir a few min to get all air out. That should fix it. If not then check vents on top of tanks for blockage. Air needs to go in fuel tanks as level drops if a vacuum will keep the fuel from coming out if the tank.

The VTA (Variable Turbo Actuator) went out on my DT570 at about 50,000 miles. Of coarse IH gave some BS reason why it wasnt't covered under warranty. Bought the part and a mechanic friend of mine familiar with the IH's was able to change JUST the actuator from under the truck. I'm not sure how different or alike the DT466 and 570 are.
